Resilient Planet: Flower Garden Banks News

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has assembled a portal to a selection of games dealing with marine and air issues and themes. This "planet arcade" will hopefully bring attention to sciences and pursuits relevant to the NOAA as well as fostering environmental stewardship.

We're proud to announce that Operation: Resilient Planet is now included in the list!

Earlier this month, the National Research Council's Board on Science Education held a two-day workshop at the National Academy of Sciences in DC to discuss one of my favorite topics: games, simulations and (science) education. Essentially, a host of smart folks gave a series presentations that cumulatively pointed to the conclusion that game-based science education is a fantastic idea. As of this writing, the workshop agenda is still available online, including links to the papers and presentations that defined the workshop. Take a peek!
