In Branches of Power, students take on the role of all three branches of government, collectively charged with a critical goal: to build new laws! Beware! Juggling all three branches at once can get overwhelming! As President, choose issues that are important to you and pass or veto laws that land on your desk! Play as a legislator and hold town halls that garner support for your issues with constituents of particular values! Deliberate in Congress, crafting the bills everyone can agree on. As a Justice, uphold laws or strike down unconstitutional legislation! Balance your time among the three branches in order to raise issues on the landscape from small ideas to tower laws.
Branches of Power is designed to teach a student about the distribution of power among the three branches of government. The student is able to follow a law from start to finish, learning how each branch is involved along the way.
