Biography
Jason Novick, a.k.a The Pixel Savant, is a web developer. A digital iconoclast that specializes in web development, UI design, user experiences and graphic design, he is tasked with helping make sites that enhance game impact.
While in college, a freak power surge hit the computer graphics lab Jason was working in, fusing him to the computer network. When the smoke cleared, he regained consciousness in a somewhat altered state. Hair still still smoldering from the accident, he began spouting source code for a project he was working on to a bewildered EMT, who eventually gave up trying to understand whatever Jason was talking about, handed him a couple of aspirin, and left him for his instructors to deal with.
After some intense shock therapy, solitary confinement, and several experimental drug regimens, Jason mostly recovered. The experience left him greatly changed, however, and he continued endlessly blathering on about design, layout, and obscure code snippets. With doctors unsure what to do with the him, they began to use his "condition" to their advantage, enlisting his help with the design and layout of various projects ranging from e-commerce sites to training videos to 3D animations and motion graphics.
When not working, Jason was kept in a padded cell at Institute for the Digitally Insane, where he fashioned a mock computer terminal out of cardboard, crayons, and playdoh.
Through a work-release program at IftDI he has done time at various web development firms and an electronic medical records provider, and was briefly shipped to the west coast of Canada to work with some local marketing firms. Currently, Jason is working on Drupal-based websites here at Filament to provide users access to our world-class educational games.
