Welcome back to the Game-based Learning Review, your number #1 source for the insider’s view on educational game development! Today we’re playing through Be Scam Ready, a game we launched late last year with our friends at Google to help folks build scam literacy in an increasingly online world.

Joining us for today’s playthrough are Luke Jayapalan, Senior Game Designer at Filament Games and design lead on Be Scam Ready,as well as Abhishek Roy, Staff UX Researcher, Trust and Safety at Google, whose research and direction were indispensable to the creation of Be Scam Ready. In this stream, Dan plays through the game as Luke and Abhishek lead us through a wide-ranging discussion of internet scams, exploring how we used inoculation theory and more than 400 real-world scam survivor stories to create an experience that builds players’ defenses against online manipulation tactics.
