We’re proud to share that three Filament-developed titles are finalists in the 2025 Gee! Awards, and now it’s your turn to help choose the winner. Two of the nominated games were created in partnership with our friends at iCivics, and one is part of our own original Robot World IP on Roblox, developed with support from Niagara Cares and American Student Assistance. Check out the nominees below, then vote for your favorite in the People’s Choice category!
Investigation Declaration
In Investigation Declaration, students take on the role of a secret agent working to restore corrupted historical records that trace the spread of Enlightenment ideas leading up to the Declaration of Independence. Players travel across time and geography to investigate how natural rights, state sovereignty, and the social contract moved through the Atlantic world. Along the way, they’ll build an understanding of the intellectual roots of democratic government and the methods by which revolutionary ideas traveled in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Uncovering Loyalties
Set in pre-Revolutionary Virginia, Uncovering Loyalties invites students to explore the perspectives of diverse residents in colonial Williamsburg. Commissioned by Lord Dunmore, players interact with townspeople and investigate their beliefs, motivations, and affiliations in a time of growing tension and uncertainty. Through critical thinking and historical empathy, students uncover how political, religious, and economic interests shaped loyalties on the eve of the American Revolution.
Salvage Safari in Robot World
Salvage Safari is an immersive sustainability-themed game mode inside Robot World, Filament’s multiplayer robotics experience on Roblox. Sponsored by Niagara Bottling through its Niagara Cares initiative, the game challenges players to pilot customizable robots along a sunny beachside, collecting and sorting digital waste. With gameplay grounded in real recycling principles and positive feedback loops that reinforce sorting accuracy, Salvage Safari helps players build systems-thinking skills while learning about the circular economy.
