Connect with Filament Games!

This month is packed with opportunities to get involved with Filament Games and our community. Whether you are a longtime collaborator, a fan of our work, or simply interested in the future of educational games, there are ways to participate both online and in person. You can help us celebrate our award-nominated titles, lend your support to an important SXSW EDU conversation, and connect with local edtech professionals in our own Madison, WI backyard.

Cast your vote in the Gee! Awards People’s Choice

We are honored to have three Filament-developed titles among the finalists for the 2025 Gee! Awards People’s Choice category. Two were created in partnership with iCivics, and one is part of our own original Robot World IP on Roblox, developed with support from FIRST, Niagara Cares, and American Student Assistance.

  • Investigation Declaration invites players to travel through time to restore historical records tracing Enlightenment ideas in the lead-up to the Declaration of Independence.
  • Uncovering Loyalties takes players to colonial Williamsburg to explore how political, religious, and economic forces shaped loyalties before the American Revolution.
  • Salvage Safari in Robot World challenges players to pilot customizable robots along a sunny beach, collecting and sorting digital waste to promote recycling principles and awareness of the circular economy.

Cast your ballot and help spotlight games that make learning meaningful, memorable, and fun. Vote in the Gee! Awards People’s Choice.

Support our SXSW EDU 2026 panel

Our proposed session, When AI’s the Wrong Kind of Friend: Designing AI Tutors, brings together voices from Filament Games, zSpace, McGraw-Hill Education, and Chicago Scholars. The discussion will focus on how to design AI tutors that encourage curiosity, confidence, and productive struggle instead of providing shortcuts that preclude learning. Panelists will share ethical design principles, practical examples, and lessons learned from integrating AI into game-based learning.

Your vote can help put this important conversation in front of educators, designers, and thought leaders from around the world. Vote for our session on the SXSW EDU PanelPicker!
