RoboCo: Games for Change Best Learning Game Award Finalist

Our sandbox robotics game, RoboCo, garnered well-deserved recognition as a finalist in the Learning Game category at the 2023 Games for Change Awards. RoboCo offers players the opportunity to dive into the world of robotics, fostering their creativity as they design, build, and program an array of robots. With captivating challenges that range from delivering sandwiches to choreographing robot dance moves, RoboCo encourages players to think like engineers. This playful and educational game opens new horizons in teaching robotics, engineering design, and automation.

People’s Pie: 2023 GEE Award Winner for Formal Learning (Middle+)

Our friends at iCivics made a significant impact in 2023 with their game, People’s Pie, which secured this year’s GEE Award in the Formal Learning (Middle+) category. This thought-provoking game places players in the pivotal role of balancing the federal budget while managing tax rates and the national debt. Through strategic decision-making, players must consider policy proposals and scrutinize funding allocations across various government programs. People’s Pie equips players with an understanding of the national budget and the decision-making process behind it!

AJ’s Recycle Rescue: 2023 GEE Award Finalist for Formal Learning (Elementary)

Another client of ours, Twin Cities PBS, also achieved recognition at the 2023 GEE Awards! Their game AJ’s Recycle Rescue was a Finalist in the Formal Learning (Elementary) category. This game, inspired by PBS’s Hero Elementary TV series, invites young learners to join AJ Gadgets in his mission to transform his community through recycling. Players collect and upcycle discarded items, gaining insights into conservation concepts and the positive impact of environmental stewardship. AJ’s Recycle Rescue showcases the power of educational gaming to deliver meaningful lessons on sustainability and conservation.

Contents Under Pressure: David Himmelblau Award for Innovations in Computer-Based Chemical Engineering Education

Our collaboration with Rowan University on the chemical safety game, Contents Under Pressure, received the prestigious David Himmelblau Award for Innovations in Computer-Based Chemical Engineering Education this year. This narrative-driven game immerses players in the role of a senior engineer responsible for the safe operation of a chemical plant. The game challenges players with complex binary decisions, emphasizing the balance between productivity, safety protocols, and risk management. Contents Under Pressure excels in delivering a dynamic and realistic environment for teaching chemical safety and risk management, contributing to the advancement of chemical engineering education through technology-driven learning experiences.
